Vivid Lucidity III is a group self-portrait exhibition presented by The Artifice in Atlanta, GA.
The mirror and the mask. Artists confront themselves through the discipline of the self-portrait—faces emerging not as simple likenesses, but as sites of reflection, distortion, and transformation. Each work becomes a moment of tension between artist and image, identity and performance, truth and invention.
Self-portraiture exists between revelation and disguise. Here, that tension takes center stage—some works search for clarity, others fracture or obscure the image. What remains is the act of looking back: intimate, uneasy, and occasionally confrontational.
