Daniel Curran is an Atlanta-based visual artist whose distinctive practice merges painting and sculpture through richly textured surfaces, vibrant color, and an impressionistic approach to portraiture, landscapes, and cityscapes. Drawing inspiration from Impressionism and Pointillism while developing a contemporary visual language of his own, Curran creates multidimensional works that invite both visual and tactile engagement.

A graduate of the Atlanta College of Art, Curran began his artistic journey through an apprenticeship with a landscape painter in Kauai, Hawaii, where he developed a lasting appreciation for color, atmosphere, and the natural environment. His background in sculpture continues to influence his work, resulting in heavily layered acrylic surfaces that blur the boundary between painting and relief.

Known for his vibrant portrayals of cultural figures, expressive landscapes, and richly textured cityscapes, Curran’s work explores memory, emotion, and shared human experience through color, material, and gesture. His paintings can be found in numerous public and private collections, including commissions and projects for organizations such as the Atlanta Braves and Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Beyond his studio practice, Curran is a co-founder and gallery director of 404FoundATL, helping create opportunities for emerging artists through exhibitions, public programming, and collaborative creative projects. An active presence in Atlanta’s arts community for more than two decades, he continues to exhibit throughout the Southeast while contributing to public art initiatives, live painting events, and community-driven cultural programs.
