THE ARTIFICE EXHIBITION GUIDELINES

Artist Participation Overview

The Artifice invites artists to participate in upcoming exhibitions throughout the 2026 calendar year. Each show has its own theme and curatorial intent, but all share a commitment to professional conduct, timely communication, and quality craftsmanship.

 

Participation in certain exhibitions may include a materials fee (e.g., for uniform substrates or required components). All fees will be clearly stated in the show call.

Participation Expectations

  • Submitted work must directly align with the exhibition theme

  • Artwork must be exhibition-ready (ready-to-hang, labeled, and safe to display)

  • The Artifice reserves the right to exclude work that fails quality or safety standards

  • The Artifice reserves the right to adjust hanging mechanisms on artwork  if necessary

  • Artists are expected to maintain professional communication with gallery staff

  • Fees (if applicable) are due upon acceptance

 

Sales & Commissions

  • The Artifice takes 0% commission on sales

  • All sales are handled directly between the artist and buyer

  • Each artwork displayed must include a Venmo or payment QR code provided by the artist

  • Sold works remain on display until the exhibition closes unless otherwise approved by the curator

Gallery Location & Drop-Off

All currently listed exhibitions take place at The Artifice (inside Atlanta Utility Works)
Location: 2903 RN Martin Street — East Point, Georgia 30344

 

Standard Hours for Drop-Off & Pick-Up:
Tuesday – Saturday — 11AM - 10PM
Sunday — 11AM - 5PM

Artists may leave work with bar staff if the curator is unavailable. Works will be secured the same day.​​

Exhibition Timeline Framework

Each show typically runs for 4–6 weeks.

Calls for participation open 6–8 weeks prior to the exhibition’s start date.

Standard Milestones:

  • Desire to Participate Form Opens: ~8 weeks before show

  • Artist Acceptance Notifications: ~6 weeks before show

  • Accepted Artist Form + Agreement Due: ~5 weeks before show

  • Artwork Drop-Off: Specified dates

  • Art Pickup: Within 1 week after show closes

 

Late Work Policy

  • Late submissions and drop-offs will not be accepted under any circumstance

  • Artists unable to deliver work by the stated deadline forfeit inclusion in the show

  • Exceptions are not guaranteed and will only be considered for verified emergencies communicated to and confirmed by the curator at least 48 hours prior to the deadline
     

Artwork Pickup Policy:
All artwork must be collected within 7 days of the show’s closing date. Artists who need special arrangements must contact the curator before the pickup deadline. The Artifice is not responsible for artwork left beyond this period. Works remaining after 7 days without prior written arrangement will be considered abandoned property and may be disposed of, donated, or repurposed at the curator’s discretion.

Additional Notes

  • Participation fees cover material costs, shared components, or production materials as specified per show

  • The gallery provides uniform wall labels and signage for consistency

  • By submitting, artists agree to allow photography of their work for promotional use
