Andrew Swartz is a self-taught artist and illustrator whose work explores esoteric flora and fauna through themes of symbiosis, mortality, transformation, and the enduring cycle of life. Blending the beautiful with the grotesque, Swartz creates surreal ecosystems where natural forms are infused with unsettling and otherworldly elements, producing imagery that is both intimate and uncanny.

Drawing influence from memento mori traditions, organic patterning, and the tension between life and decay, his work balances precision, symbolism, and imaginative worldbuilding. Swartz’s practice often merges the familiar with the unnatural, inviting viewers into environments that feel simultaneously comforting and psychologically charged.

Swartz holds a degree in Art History from the University of Alabama and has exhibited work in galleries, public spaces, street settings, and art fairs across the United States. His work has been featured in Juxtapoz magazine and installed on buildings in San Francisco, reflecting a practice that moves fluidly between contemporary illustration, fine art, and independent visual culture.
