Soft Machines
A Group Exhibition
July 12th – August 28th, 2026
Soft Machines is a group exhibition presented by The Artifice at Atlanta Utility Works.
Where flesh meets mechanism and the organic begins to blur with the engineered. Artists investigate the shifting relationship between bodies, technology, artificial intelligence, and synthetic forms of life.
As advances in robotics, biotechnology, machine learning, and digital identity continue to reshape contemporary life, Soft Machines explores the increasingly uncertain boundary between the human and the manufactured. Through painting, sculpture, photography, collage, installation, and mixed-media practices, participating artists examine questions of consciousness, embodiment, emotion, labor, and identity in a world where the artificial no longer exists apart from the organic but increasingly grows from within it.
