Jeremy Townsend, known professionally as JERT, is an Atlanta-based visual artist, illustrator, and muralist whose work blends pop absurdity, satire, nostalgia, and contemporary street culture through a bold and instantly recognizable visual language. Active within Atlanta’s creative community since the mid-2000s, JERT has become known for his playful yet subversive imagery, merging iconic American symbolism with humor, surrealism, and underground aesthetics.

Working across murals, traditional illustration, painting, prints, and merchandise, JERT creates vibrant compositions populated by recurring characters, exaggerated forms, and culturally distorted imagery—including his widely recognized “Hamburger Ghost” persona. His work frequently explores the strange overlap between consumer culture, memory, comedy, and contemporary Americana.

Deeply embedded within Atlanta’s public art and independent gallery scene, JERT has contributed to major collaborative mural initiatives including Outer Space Project and Forward Warrior while regularly exhibiting through local creative spaces and pop-up exhibitions. Through both public art and studio practice, he continues to develop a multidisciplinary body of work rooted in accessibility, visual experimentation, and irreverent cultural commentary.
