Larry Holland is an Atlanta-based multimedia artist, photographer, animator, and community arts organizer whose influence extends far beyond his individual studio practice. Working under the moniker Fishbone Art, Holland has spent decades helping shape Atlanta’s independent arts ecosystem through public art initiatives, collaborative exhibitions, grassroots artist networks, and creative placemaking projects that connect artists directly with their communities.

As an artist, Holland works across photography, painting, illustration, design, assemblage, and mixed media, creating work rooted in curiosity, storytelling, identity, and a deep appreciation for place. His practice reflects both technical versatility and a spirit of experimentation, moving fluidly between personal artwork and large-scale community-driven projects.

Holland is widely recognized as a driving force behind numerous Atlanta-area public art initiatives, including Secret Doors Decatur, the Decatur Box Project, #LookUpDecatur, and the long-running Octopi exhibitions. He is also a co-founder of 404FoundATL, a collaborative platform dedicated to expanding visibility and opportunities for artists throughout the region.
