Dana Harrison
Atlanta, GA
Dana Harrison, known professionally as Dear Alphabet, is an Atlanta-based sign painter, muralist, and lettering artist whose work blends hand-painted typography, playful visual language, and community-centered design. Born and raised in Decatur, Harrison developed an early fascination with lettering through journaling, restaurant signage, calligraphy, graffiti handstyles, ghost signs, and vintage typography.
Working across murals, sign painting, branding, and public art, Harrison transforms language into expressive visual experience through bold compositions, vibrant color, and carefully crafted letterforms. Her practice balances humor, wordplay, and approachable aesthetics with a strong commitment to inclusivity, social awareness, and community engagement.
Since discovering sign painting in 2018, Harrison has expanded her practice into large-scale mural work and full-time independent artistry, creating projects that emphasize joy, accessibility, and human connection. Through Dear Alphabet, she continues to celebrate the power of language, public art, and handmade visual culture within Atlanta’s creative landscape.
