Ayla Scott Gibbons
Atlanta, GA
Ayla Scott Gibbons is an Atlanta-based printmaker, puppet fabricator, educator, and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores storytelling, performance, and the handmade magic of creative play. Working across printmaking, drawing, puppetry, and fabrication, Gibbons creates imaginative works centered on human connection, transformation, and the physical act of making.
Rooted in a love for tactile process and collaborative storytelling, her recent work focuses heavily on puppets and the expressive role of the human hand in constructing narrative, illusion, and emotional experience. Through prints, fabricated objects, and performative elements, Gibbons examines how art and play function as tools for communication, empathy, and imagination.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Gibbons earned a BFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2025 with a focus on puppetry and printmaking. Alongside her studio practice, she is deeply committed to arts education and creating inclusive spaces for learning, experimentation, and creative discovery.
