Vinyl VI: Locked Groove
An endless loop of sound and image. Artists reinterpret album art and sound culture in every medium—analog nostalgia meets remix modernity.
The Artifice presents the sixth edition of its Vinyl exhibition series. Locked Groove refers to the circular loop at the end of a record—where sound repeats endlessly, holding a moment in place. A glitch becomes structure. A fragment becomes permanent.
Artists work directly on 12-inch vinyl records, treating the object itself as both surface and artifact. Each piece exists within a fixed boundary—contained, cyclical, and deliberate.
Our second presentation at Atlanta Utility Works, the series continues to evolve—tightening its curatorial framework while reinforcing the enduring power of the physical record.

This May, Film Club turns inward. Across four weeks, identity begins to slip—first as unease, then as duplication, then as performance, and finally as collapse. These films explore the moment when the self is no longer singular. A second version appears. Sometimes it is desired. Sometimes it is imposed. Sometimes it replaces you entirely.
